<p>I disagree slightly with the initial reply to this thread. I don't think that being Gay is really an issue at Tulane. As a current student, I find that the only time individuals are really signaled out for being gay is when they make it the defining aspect of their personality, however that is a personal choice the individual makes, and even in that case it is completely successful. And new orleans has a pretty fun gay scene, I am straight and I still adore decadence and heading down to the gay bars downtown.</p>
<p>I never said that people were singled out for being gay, just that it was marked as a larger part of who they are than at some other schools. At my current school it's just like, oh, you're gay? Oh, you have brown hair?</p>
<p>And why shouldn't people be able to make it a defining aspect of their personality without being singled out?</p>
