GC Rec Accepted as True?

I know that one of the most important criteria for top 10 schools is class rigor and the choice of your courses. You are obviously supposed to take as many APs as possible. I have heard that if your courseload is deemed very rigorous by the adcom, but not indicated by your counselor that they may change the GC's recomendation if he/she did not check "most rigorous."

My question is...could the adcom also do the reverse. For example, I have taken all honors core classes, consistent curriculum based electives and several (but not all) APs. My counselor will check most rigorous on the rec form because I still have a schedule tougher and with more APs than 99% of students at my school. However, if an adcom sees another applicant with like 2 more APs than me from the same school, will they deem my courseload to not be "rigorous enough"? Thanks

No. I think of number of APs more in ranges. There could have been scheduling conflicts with APs so he/she ended up getting the opportunity to take two more APs. Also, if that student took 2 APs like sophomore year while you took none, but could have, I don't think they will consider that much because sophomore year is not as considered as junior and senior year.
