GE and core classes?

So I'm going to be an undecided freshman working toward a BA at Dornsife this fall.
I was wondering what credits I'll be required to get and how I can change my major/degree objective. I would like to switch to a BS in either Neuroscience or Biological sciences so I can prepare myself for applying to med school for psychiatry. Also, is there a limit on the number/type of classes I can take this fall? Help please?!
Thanks in advance!

Typically you will take BISC 120/CHEM 105A in Fall followed by BISC 220/CHEM 105B in Spring. You can take WRIT 140/CAT 6 either in Spring or Fall and other GEs OR Calculus/Statistics to fill the remaining 8 units is the most common case but of course you’re welcome to take anything you would like.
Fall 13: BISC 120/CHEM 105A/WRIT 140/CAT 6
Spring 14: BISC 220/CHEM 105B/GE X/MATH 125

Simply email or call the appropriate adviser and they will change your major to what you want.

No limit but I would probably take no more than 18 units your first semester, flat rate tuition is 12-18 units.

Are those the classes typically taken by undecided students or students with the majors I listed? So are there no classes I NEED to take??? And can I contact the adviser at any point during the year? Thank you so much for replying!

You will go over all this at orientation when you register for classes. You are also able to switch majors during orientation from one Dornsife major to another. You can contact your major advisor (when you decide on a major) or your current advisor (they have ones for undecided students as well). There are also dedicated pre-med advisors that you can meet with. You can call and make appointments, email to make appointments, and there are also drop-in (for pre-med) at certain times. D has met with her major advisor and pre-med advisor several times over the last two years-- easy to get an appointment.

Those are the classes you would take if you declared those majors, there aren’t any formal requirements and you are already in Dornsife, just contact any of the advisers and they will update your information either now, at orientation, or later during the year if you decide to do something else. If you read the advisement guide, it has a sample course plan of how everything fits and the typical sequence of classes.

As War Chant says, undergraduate flat rate tuition covers up to 18 units. Each unit beyond 18 costs $1,536.00 (Trustee, Mork, Stamps and Presidential scholars have access to “exceptional funding” that can cover all or part of the cost of extra units, and the Academic Achievement Award can cover an extra 2 units for continuing students with high GPAs and dual majors or major/minor combos [USC Academic Achievement Award - FAQ | Undergraduate Education](http://undergrad.usc.edu/renaissance/achievement_award_faq.html) ).

Students are limited to 20 units per semester without additional written permission. To exceed 20 units, written permission must be obtained from school or home department of the student’s major.
Where do you find a listing of required classes for Annenberg students?

[USC Annenberg | Academic Forms](http://annenberg.usc.edu/CurrentStudents/UGStudentSvcs/Forms.aspx)
Specifically requirements and 4-year course plan/sequencing charts…these are the same forms your adviser is gonna hand you during orientation most likely.
