I'm considering completing Category III in the GE requirements over the summer at a community college. I used assist.org to determine which courses would have transfer credit. However, it uses the 09-10 catalogue since the 10-11 one isn't out yet (I think?) Do the transferable courses change a lot? I wouldn't want to take the courses over the summer only to have them not even transfer! D:

Also, I was checking the Schedule of Classes and... in the 09-10 catalogue CHEM 1A satisfies a GE II requirement... though when I filtered the classes for the 2010 Fall Qtr in GE II courses CHEM 1A doesn't show up! But I know it's still offered as a course because when I don't filter out GE courses it shows up... Does that mean that it's no longer counted as satisfying the GE requirement?

Laasstllyy... just a random one... So I'm thinking of taking Psychology and American Government over the summer (online) at a community college (if they do transfer). Would you consider those courses extremely difficult? (If it helps any, I'm thinking of taking them @ Pasadena City College)

I believe the courses do transfer, I went thru the Zot Start oreintation website and it stated that AP exam scores and/or community college course work would get credit. If you recieve a grade of C or above you do not have to repeat the course at UCI. In fact on the website it says “you cannot repeat a course in which you recieved a grade of C or better.”

@dkwon: I’m not sure how online classes work, but I believe you go online to check for homework and to turn in assignments. Going on the internet and reading is something you’ll probably do most of the time.

Courses taken at a CC do not affect your UCI GPA.

However, the letter grades do SHOW on the transcript, and if you’re interested in grad school, they will want to know how well you did in courses you took in CC as well.

^^^^ CC courses do count for credit. They DO NOT count towards your GPA. There’s a difference. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered taking 3 CC courses. I’m hoping to get some credit.
