Why aren't clusters not offered for engineers? I mean we have GEs too and it would be nice to get rid of them soon.

When I was at orientation last year, they told us that we could, if we really wanted to, sign up for a GE cluster, but chances are, we might only get one or two GE classes out of the way because the rest won't count. Also, our first year is mostly already planned out for us in terms of the math and science we have to take, esp for comp sci people.

I recommend spacing out your GE's over the four years instead of getting rid of them asap. We only have 6 or 7 reqs, and trust me, science class after science class after science class will drive you crazy after a while.

I second Westow's sentiments.

oh yeah and guess wut they had a revamp of the HSSEAS GE Requirements like June 2005 LOl. heres the site:
http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/GE%20requirements/HSSEAS%20general%20education.htm

about the GE clusters, there are a couple that fits nicely with the HSSEAS GE requirements. check this out this site for more info: http://www.college.ucla.edu/ge/clusters/
however i notice that its for 2004-2005... go figure. so i guess a word of caution would be to check up with ur counselors and make sure it fullfills whatever requirements u thought it was.
also i heard clusters are hard too cuz theres a lot of writing and stuff since it satifies the Writing II part.

lastly, are fiat lux basically useless for engineers in terms of fullfilling GEs? they are just there for like intellectual enhancements right?
