<p>Are there GEs for both UCSD as a whole along with the GEs from the college you are in?</p>
<p>There are only GE requirements for the college that you are in.</p>
<p>There are some university requirements that you should be able to find on the UCSD website or on the website of your specific college website, but these can be accomplished in a variety of ways and can overlap with college GE requirements. I believe the only university requirement that requires you to take a course is the diversity requirement, and it may overlap with your GE requirements, depending on what course you choose. The writing and American history requirement can both be completed in a variety of ways, including SAT scores and high school classes, but if you haven’t fulfilled them some other way, then you may have to take a class in each, regardless of what your college is.</p>
