GE requirements for transfers

I'm comparing the classes on transferrable articulation site, but it's really screwing up my spring schedule. I already have the language requirement, diversity, and scientific inquiry. All my other credits are so far transferrable, but they don't fulfill the I, II, and V requirements. I want to focus on my current school's gen ed requirements because I don't want it to screw myself over if I don't get into USC as a transfer. Are these gen eds necessary? If you don't fulfill them, will they bring my chances down of getting into USC? Thanks.

no it is not necessary. USC wants you to take advantage of their general ed program. I stuck with my old school’s ge requirements for the same reason. I only fulfilled diversity, english, math, and category II when I transferred  I would recommend taking a summer school class to fulfill one of them…the ge’s are pretty tough at USC.

If I were you, I would choose the schedule that puts you in the best possible position if you aren’t accepted as a transfer. You’ve gotten a lot of requirements out of the way already. If the other areas of your application are strong, I doubt that a few classes will make or break you. Completing more GEs can work to your advantage, but don’t put all your eggs in one cardinal and gold basket. Good luck and fight on!

Awesome, awesome. Thanks for your answers!
