Geek or Nerd?

what's the difference?

geek=bad (and someone who bites the heads off chickens, oh...2 strikes!)

nerd=okay/cute

dork=cool

...ahh the nerd hierarchy lol

p.s.-what about dweeb?
my vote...not good, but not as bad as geek lol

oh, okay thanxs b/c my friends and i were talking about it for about an hour and a half and still didn't know the difference

according to my school:

nerd: a really smart person that is too cool to be true. weird and wacko, but outgoing and really friendly and awesome.

geek: little smarter than the average smart person, but no social skills and eats lunch in the bush alone

dork: loser

:D

Who cares? They all lack the social skills necessary to be successful.

I consider a nerd to be someone with a strong passion for something specific. Geek is a subset of nerd: geeks are nerds whose strong passion has to do with computers or technology.

In my school, nerds are the kids that get grades but are cool, most likely laid back and naturally smart. Geeks are kids who playtoo many video games and are always thinking about school and their grades

nerd- academically inclined
geek- nerd with focus on science and math
dork- weird/ quirky (social status)

I am a rather dorky nerd with a dollop of geek!:D

I'm a nerd that focuses more on their grades.I hang out with laid back nerds.

i hang out with the mathletes. we're pretty cool and our social status isnt THAT bad. we do, however, eat lunch in our ap calculus classroom. lol

I am the ultimate nerd.

personally i think all the "laid-back", "outgoing" nerds are in denial. there's really just no such thing. i really dislike "nerds" and "geeks" of all kinds

You guys are ALL wrong. I know these definitions perfectly:

Geek: Social outcast who is good with computers.
Nerd: Social outcast who has bad body odour.
Dweeb: Social outcast.

Social outcast: Pocket protectors, taped glasses, etc.

All stereotypes and colloquial definitions.

Nerds should be proud of their status and proud of the fact that they do not fall to the negative influence of other teenagers.

oh, okay thanks Well I think that i am geeknerd traped in a jocks body (do lots of sports)/ dork, and somex's a little ditzi, wow,

Dork, to me, implies nothing of academic skill or interests; I merely see it as a sort of social ineptitude.

A definitive guide to nerdology

enjoy

thanxs that helped! ;)

hmmph. american high school cliques.

I really don't know anyone who uses these, except for "band geeks." And band is such a cult that they don't need friends outside of band.

I can only think of one person I know who is truly a geek/nerd.
