<p>I can't see why you couldn't, as long as the gel pen didn't smudge illegibly all over the place! I don't think AP essays are fed through a scanner, so there shouldn't be a problem .</p>

<p>yeah, I just told my mom to buy some pilot pens for my AP lang test so that I can write for 2 hrs and the pen will flowwwww....</p>
