Does anybody know if being a woman would increase your chances of getting into a school such as CMU or Lehigh?

[Lehigh University: Undergraduate Admissions: Lehigh at a Glance: Students](http://www4.lehigh.edu/admissions/undergrad/glance/students.aspx)
Would appear that the male:female student ratio mirrors that of male:female applicants at LeHigh. Not much of an advantage, if any.

At CMU, the male:female ratio is a bit higher (as is the case with most tech or engineering focused schools). Women probably do have a slight gender advantage in this case. No idea how significant that advantage is; you’d have to search for the data like that one I found for LeHigh. I know that in the past, CMU has given significant weight to gender because their ratio use to be much worse.

Definitely would help with CMU especially if you’re majoring in engineering, not too sure about LeHigh.
