Just a curious question if anyone has information, does anybody know if gender preference is given to male nursing student applicants?

Thanks!

bump! bump! bump!

I’m GUESSING that it doesn’t matter. If it does matter, there is nothing you can do about it anyway.

The Federal Government started an investigation a couple years ago about whether some colleges were discriminating against females in their overall admissions pool, in order to try to maintain a 50-50 balance. The investigation was dropped because they said it was too hard to come to conclusions.

I tend to think it does matter, there are so few men in nursing. The opposite is true if you are a girl applying as an engineering major. I would imagine it gathers you some extra points.

Based on my experiences as an engineer, this is true. Most of the companies I’ve interviewed seems to prefer female engineer since they need to diversified the work environment.
