General Admission criteria question

I'm currently a first year CC student planning to transfer as an electrical engineering major.
From what I understand engineering majors are encouraged to stay away from IGETC, and only take required classes on assist.org

However, I was reading the transfer admission criteria for UCI and I stumbled upon this:

Four UC transferable college courses (3 semester or 4-5 quarter units) chosen from at least two of the following subject areas: the arts and humanities, the social and behavioral sciences, the physical and biological sciences

Does this mean I have to take at least 1 course in arts and humanities or social and behavioral sciences? I think I already fufilled the 4 UC courses in the physical and biological sciences from my physics series and chem 1a. Or does it mean I need 3 semesters of the other 2 subjects?

Also, can I finish my english 1A this summer for TAG for admission in 2014?

Use the UC Transfer Planner. It will help you determine what you have satisfied so far.
