** General Chance Me Post! **

I am a junior right now and am wondering if you could chance me for schools (I list the schools I’m interested in at the bottom) My interest in majors are Psychology, Romance Languages or Pre-Medicine.

Test Scores:
-SAT: 1390
-ACT: 27
-I do plan on retaking both, especially the ACT because of the science bringing my score down

Course Load:
-Freshman Year: Algebra 1, English 9, Biology, French 1, Global Studies (no AP classes are offered at my school until 10th grade), Spanish 3 and Wellness

-Sophomore Year: Geometry, AP US History (Only AP offered to sophomores), Spanish 4, French 2, Chemistry, English 10, Advanced Conditioning(Semester), Digital Media 1 (S) (To fulfill fine arts requirement for California Educational System)

-Junior Year: Spanish 5(Took AP-Exam and received 5 I have been studying Spanish since age 10), Biochemistry, French 3, AP Psychology, AP Composition, AP US Government, Algebra 2

-Plans for Senior Year: Take AP Bio exam (self-study for the exam) , Take AP Economics exam (self-study), French 4(Self-Study for AP Exam), Pre-Calculus, Spanish at Southern Oregon University, AP Environmental Science. AP Physics 1, AP Lit (these 3 are classes taken at school not self study)

Due to my school not being very top ranking, I believe self-studying helps give me a stronger academic profile along with allowing me to pursue interests.

AP-US History (4)
AP-Spanish Lang (5)
AP Psych (4)
AP Comp (4)

What other schools that you know of that have good pre-medicine, psychology or romance language departments for majors that I would fit into academically.
I am open to any location and price at the moment. Currently, I live on the west coast but I was born in mid-west.

Of course, I do realize that at this level, admissions are quite unpredictable and cannot truly be determined, but I just wanted to know if it is worth applying or what I should do to change my chances

@vegucated26 thank you, I used your chance me post as a template I figured credit was needed and deserved.

Thanks!! Everything looks great, just try and bring up the scores a little and you will be great!!

Great job, but two questions. Did your school offer honors classes for all grade levels, if so, were all the classes mentioned in honors? Also, did your school offer AP Calc? Your ec’s are super impressive. I think you’re all set.

ECs and grades are good. You’re SAT is low for Notre Dame, UVA, and UCLA so I would really try to bring that up. I wouldn’t send the ACT at all as your sat score is a lot better. For Notre Dame and even UVA oos you want about a 1500. For UCLA, probably a 1450.

@NewByzantine My school offers very few honors classes. I have done my best to take the most rigorous classes possible, my transcript honestly cannot get much better  it’s just how my school works.

@blueguy99 will I be alright if I only take pre-calc senior year? Or will that demolish any chances to get into schools like Notre Dame simply because of my math classes. Would it be in my benefit to apply early decision?
Can I message you privately and ask for more advice?

@NewByzantine I forgot to mention yes, my school does offer AP-Calc however I am only on track to take pre-calc, would you recommend that I take a class during the summer to maybe advance in the fall?

@vegucated26 Did you accidentally double post?

Oh yes sorry about that haha I didn’t think it posted at first

@vegucated26 Haha you are all good

@WaterpoloGod23 Taking AP Calc isn’t required by many colleges, but it could make your application more attractive. You could take it over the summer, but studying over the summer is alot more stressful than it seems. If your up to it, go ahead. But in the long run, having 1 or 2 semesters of Calc under your belt before college is beneficial.
