General Chem 142 textbook.

In my advanced chem class at school were using Zumdahl fifth edition. From looking online at the UW chem classes it looks like they use zumdahl as well. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

zumdahl, 6th edition. it should be published 2009.

Is there a major difference between the fifth edition and 6th?

For chem 142 you really don’t need the textbook. The slideshows that hte professor posts are adequate to cover everything (if its not on the slide show you don’t need to know it), the only time i used it was for the tables in chapters (i doubt those change) and at the back

@dawei94 - true, but it really depends on the person. if OP does a lot of textbook reading (that’s the learning style OP likes) as opposed to only listening to lecture and looking at the powerpoint notes, then OP should get the book.

@bothellcougar - I’ve heard there’s little difference, perhaps a little bit more information or slightly different problems for each chapter. Don’t quote me on that though.
