<p>I'm thinking about applying to engineering at CMU next year and have a few questions.
Does CMU consider freshmen year grades when calculating GPA? What's the avg. admit's GPA? What's the minimum number of SAT2s required? Does CMU consider grades from Semester 1 of Senior year?</p>

freshman : no idea, i know they won't weight it..
min. SAT 2 : for eng its 2, one math and one science chem or phys
senior: no idea, if you apply EA i don't think its possble..</p>

<p>The HS in China only has 3 years, and I think my school could provide only the sophomore, and junior years grades, your freshmen year is equivalent to our last year in middle school. I guess you're probably worried about a couple of bad grades, if that is the case, I would say they won't matter TOO much, as long as your subsequent grades are good.</p>
