I know there is a forum but they only discuss the problems and the answers.

What was the overall difficulty of this particular SAT?

It was my first time taking the test and the last time, and I found it to be very easy (compared to the practice exams), not that I aced any of it.

Many claim the sentence completion to be the easier than any other tests but too bad I couldn't take advantage of that :( I really should start memorising the WordSmart list.

Writing also seemed to be one of the easier ones; I didnt see much difference in terms of difficulty with the psat questions and this.

Math was a breeze for me (Asian!) but I thought it was more difficult than usual.

Are the critical reading passages usually in the similar difficulty as the one we took today? I was expecting richer use of vocabulary... I mean, I, out of all people, understood (or maybe I didnt) the passage after reading it once.

PS: I heard that January SAT's grading curves are most lenient in the year-round SAT tests as it is right after Christmas and New Years break. I also saw dozens of 7th graders taking the test for the some Duke scholarship program. I'm not sure if their scores are taken into account for the overall curve, but yeah, the scores shouldn't be that bad at all.

Math was also a breeze for me (yes Asian too!) but I still made a stupid mistake (the median question, i thought it asked for INTEGERS). the math was harder than usual, so I think 1 wrong will be about a 790, hopefully 800.

The CR was easier than usual though, and the passages were actually interesting to read this time (with the exception of the girl who married), but the sentence completions were also cake (although I missed 1).

The WS was moderate and the Essay was okay (I talked about Columbus and I lied about the fact that I liked baseball and through it I learned tennis)

Overall, the test was harder than usual, and yes, I think the curve is going to be very leniant.

yeah, the general trend is, you do better if the passages are interesting.

I find it very hard to entertain myself with fictional passages; I didnt appreciate a single aspect of the Georgia or the wedding (woman was a reporter) passage :(

For the Essay I used two historical figures as examples. I used Davinci and Einstein to disagree since DaVinci was the master of so many fields of study and Einstein was also well rounded

No he was looking to find India just to find a route to India.. so that Spain would have a way to the spices and goods of India and the far east without having to go through Italian merchants and/or a perilous land route by the time of Columbus every educated person believed the world was round, common misconception that Columbus "discovered that" and was the only one who believed the world was round.

okay, well, i'm glad I directly didn't state that he wanted to prove the earth was round. I stated in my essay that he wanted to find a way to India, but along the way he found that the world was round and the new world.

well, it doesn't matter, i don't remember if i flat out stated that he wanted to prove the world was round but i put that was one of his discoveries as well as finding the new world.

heheh I screwed up my essay big time; no concrete evidence and the sentences were disorganized...

I had trouble intepreting "paying attention to one subject"...
I was wondering if 'science' was a single subject it could be broken down into 'biology' and 'chem'...
