The Berkeley boards have been buzzing with activity (and some hostility), but I don't think I've really gotten to know anyone who is actually attending Cal next year (or even thinking about it). I don't even know what kind of music everyone likes! Its quite dissapointing. I say we start bonding by just posting random information about ourselves.

My name is Naomi. I love the Aeneid and Latin (JCL! Yay!). I listen to all sorts of music from Architecture in Helsinki to Philip Glass. My favorite movie is Pi. I have no fear of hippies and thats probably why I'm suited for Cal.

My name's esteban, i'm from pasadena in so cal, i'm stoked for Cal, and can't wait 2 start. I'm into oldies, rock, folk, and reggae. love 2 chill, hang out and have fun. i dig music, and i'm suited 4 cal cause i am pretty much a hippie

My name is Sarah. I am not 100% on Cal, but I am pretty sure I will be there next year. I love soccer, running, and dance. I'm into all kinds of music, but I am mostly into the John Mayer type thing. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies, more specifically Love Actually.

The name is Nakul, from da Bay Area and a true liberal (with an open mind however) and therefore fully excited. I listen to all music EXCEPT country, gospel (or anything religious) and most classic. I love reading, sleeping, eating, movies, video games, and sports (cricket, football, soccer, basketball, tennis, etc. I hate baseball and golf however). I'm a non-vegitarian (though my parents think I'm a carnivore), and I'm in EECS.

Really Nakul, no classical? That's really interesting. Not even music from movie soundtracks? Most everyone seems to hate country though. Its kind of funny.

Just to rouse conversation: What is your opinion on Ayn Rand?

I personally love her work. As a person, Ayn Rand is rubbish, but I love her books.

Hi i'm raymond. One day i'm going to be the first person in the entire world to discover a living dragon. I also hope that i can clone super cows that can talk and give me my milk when i want it. People think i'm werid but i just think of myself as unique. I'm also a spring admit for MCB which im praying that i can somehow switch into engineering because it's my true passion. At senior ball instead of dancing i stared at the sealing of the sacramento galleria and wondered what force it took to hold those 3 giant loops up that high. I HOPE I FIT IN!

Naomi, I said most classical because I despise English classical music. I listen to classical Indian ones though (but not much). Mostly go for hip-hop though. Oddly enough I hated music 4 years ago. :p

Haha. Thats fine Nakul. I was just curious.

Cows. I had a grand fear of cows in the 6th grade. I thought they would smother me with their weight. I'm vegan now. I don't know Raymond, I might have to protest since your plans involve animal experimentation. :D

I'm Tyler Sandson, I'm from College Station, Texas. I'm in to every type of music, but especially indie-rock. I will give you 5 bucks if you know Sufjan Stevens. I plan to double major in Political Science and Sociology and I was accepted for the Spring, but want to do the Fall Freshman Program thing, if I got my application in on time. My AIM is microwavedtin.

Yo my name is Chuck I'm from Newport Beach, more specifically what you would call "The OC". If you have any questions regarding what you see in the show and if it's true here, go ahead and ask :D.

My music tastes are broad. I'll admit I don't listen to country music or gospel stuff though. Some of my favorites are Radiohead, Wilco, Pinback, Belle & Sebastian, Elliott Smith, and yes Sufjan Stevens (give me the $5!). But I listen to everything in between that from crazy techno to classical to underground rap.

I'm an artist at heart and I'm primarily a photographer. I'm currently my school's yearbook photographer but I have my dabble in art. I also play the piano, viola, and bass guitar so I have my different tastes.

For Tyler: Do you prefer Michigan or Illinois? Or an earlier album?

CDmphotoguy, if you like Pinback you should pick up "The Ladies" debut. It has one guy from pinback (whom honestly, i've never listened to) and the drummer from Hella (who kicks ass). The cd rocks. ALSO I was looking at the decal classes and there is a seminar on Radiohead! Cal rocks. Sufjan Stevens is pretty cool too.

BTW my name is Nicolas, I'm from So-cal. Recently i've been playing lots of deerhoof, the minutemen, liars, my morning jacket, akron/family, and the avalanches. My all-time favorite bands include the flaming lips, radiohead, neutral milk hotel, guided by voices, bonnie "prince" billy, guitar wolf, my bloody valentine, sonic youth, brian eno, yo la tengo, the microphones, the magnetic fields, boards of canada, the smiths, animal collective, the velvet underground, joy division aphex twin, sigur ros, captain beefheart, wilco, gy!be, modest mouse, lightning bolt... etc.

I plan on double majoring in MCB and English (or another humanities major.)

Yeah I was checking into that decal class, definitely a possibility. I'm gonna be at Cal Day, anyone else? We should post back here when we get our room assignments later in the summer so we can meet up and chill.

hah roy, yeah my nickname is Chuck, real name is Charles, I get that alot :O.
