Please excuse my ignorance on the subject of Financial Aid as I am a first generation college student and immigrant. I am applying to mainly top 20 schools that require the CSS as well as the FAFSA and almsot all of which had filing dates in early February. I filled out my CSS and FAFSA with estimates based on last year and sent them in time. Now, as of today, I finally have my parent's 2013 tax returns. College Board send me an email requesting that I basically send everything and anything tax-related to them through the IDOC. How do I go about updating my tax return information since it is now past all the deadlines?

You definitely can update your FAFSA with tax info. Your financial aid package is not final until they verify the data. For CSS profile update, each school may have a different policy. Some may ask you to send in hand corrected form, others may use FAFSA or IDOC data to update. For that, you need to ask the FA offices of the school.

Okay. Thanks. I guess I’ll makes some calls next Tuesday to ask every school.
