I'm planning on majoring in one of the variations of international affairs in Elliott. What do general ed requirements look like in this school/major? I'm not looking forward to taking a bunch of hard science/math courses that aren't going to be highly relevant to my major.

For science/math classes I heard it’s either:
2 science, 0 math
1 science, 1 math
0 science, 2 math (you can choose)

I think you have to take a writing course as a freshman, and I’m not sure about history…

yes, you have to take the writing intensive UW20, science/math as explained above. If you go to Elliott website, look at forms and it will explain very well all the requirements. You will need 120 credits to graduate, which is plenty, with enough room for a minor.

See below link- read for yourself. ESIA’s just revised the curriculum for 2010 and forward.

I just took a look at the requirements, and I was planning on taking dance (as a creative arts class or elective no matter what). I’m not sure if any of you guys know this or not, but do you have to try out to be put into a more advanced dance class? I’m in performance/intermediate dance right now in high school and I don’t want to take a beginning Modern/Postmodern Dance in college, I plan on starting at the intermediate one since I know technique, rhythm, turns, leaps, and all the jumps that are taught in the advanced levels.

r0kAng3l: I hope you can get in at intermediate, but some departments force you to start beginners. So the only way to find out is by trying to register, and if it goes through, you are ok, otherwise, try to talk the department into letting you in. Good luck
