Do the requirements for general eds differ from college to college within UF?

I'm specifically interested in the general ed requirements for the business college.

The General Education requirements are the same for everyone. However, the college you are in may influence which classes you take to fulfill those requirements. For example, you need 9 hours of Social Sciences for Gen Ed. For business, you have to take Macro, Micro, Marketing, and Management, all of which are Social Sciences. So you will exceed those requirements right there without taking any other Social Sciences. It’s wise to know your major’s requirements to make the best use of the classes you take for Gen Ed.

Some majors have subtle differences, mine had P and B, instead of P or B.

Otherwise it’s all the same.

Thanks for the info guys. :)

So I looked at the AP exam equivalent chart and sorted them all out to which general ed requirements they fill and I’m left with 3 diversity credits and 9 physical/bio science credits.

My major has nothing to do with science nor am I really interested in it at least at this level so could anyone recommend some easy classes to fill this requirement? A recommendation for an easy or interesting class to fill diversity would be nice too.

My daughter filled her Physical credit with World of Water SWS 2007 and Biology credits with Man’s Food FOS 2001 and Bugs & People ENY 1001. Other than studying for the tests, all were very little work outside of class time with the exception of Bugs which had tons of extra credit opportunities which took a little more time.

For a person who is not interested at all in Science, these are great choices and relatively easy As.

Wildlife issues is the other easy Bio option, When I took it, it was all online and super easy.

I took applied anthropology for D, it was pretty easy (if I had gone to class). In my opinion there’s no “good” diversity classes, just some okay ones.

For her diversity gen ed, D took ANT 2410 Cultural Diversity with Nicole Sullivan, and it was an easy A for her. One short research project/paper that you did with a partner, interesting videos, and she reallly liked the teacher. Turned out she actually liked the class.

zebes

Any more information on SWS2007?

I heard EEX3312 Exceptional People was a pretty easy S,D

Bekinrewind, my D took SWS 2007 World of Water. Other than being pretty boring, it was an easy A. There were 4 tests but he ended up dropping one. So if you were sitting pretty with an A you didn’t need to take the last one. I think there were 1 or 2 simple homework assignments. Other than that no real time outside of class except studying for the tests. He gave a very detailed review sheet for the test that helped a lot.

The class is very difficult to snag on ISIS so you are lucky if you can get a seat. It takes lots of stalking to pick that class up.
