you can choose from various courses that fulfill the science requirement. check out princeton’s undergraduate announcement.

no, you could never do that, except for foreign languages.

There are a lot of “easier” science classes such as “Stars for Stoners” and “Rocks for Jocks” if science isn’t your thing. You can also P/D/F some science classes so all you need to do is pass.

Most of the time AP credits don’t DO anything for you here. Sometimes you can place into a higher level course.. only to find out you need the lower level course for your major. As screwitlah said, only a language 4 or 5 is truly helpful.

hey ursel4some1likeu , do you have an example of scenarios where we might place out of a lower level course and THEN find out that we need it for our major?

screwitlah - Yeah, haha, I had a nice personal experience with it. I have a 5 on AP English Lit and was interested in placing out of one of the Reading : Literature Classes (which you can do with a 5) and just taking 205, thinking that I would have fulfilled the requirements to become an English major. But… no. You have to take a 201-204 AND the 205 course. So, while I could place into 205 it doesn’t help me at all if I want to major in English.

edit : this may be the only scenario where something like this could happen.. one of my roommates is taking orgo as a frosh..she’s a molbio concentrator and she isn’t having a problem with having to take intro bio/chem.
