So I got into slo with general engineering, and I know that I am going to change it to mechanical engineering. I know I have to wait one quarter to change major. What I want to know is during that quarter, can I take mechanical engineering classes even though I am a general engineering major?
I believe you will take ME 228/229 as intro courses instead of ME 128/129/130/163. Just take 228/229 when you transfer in. They will cover everything you need that’s covered in the other intro series. I would say take the classes you’ll need as an ME like calculus and whatever else the flowchart recommends and/or what you have prereqs for.
You can’t simply change after 1 quarter. That’s when you are allowed to start the process. Seek out an advisor during SOAR or WOW and let them know that’s what you want to do. They may opt to change your first quarter schedule. They may not. Good luck.
