Is it a bad idea to write your common app essay on an EC? I am contemplating writing about my internship during my junior year at a hospital, and how it made me become passionate and my goal to be a doctor. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nope, I’m writing mine on an EC as well. Just make sure it doesn’t sound like someone else could write it, and make it interesting! :)

Make sure you make it POP! A lot of applicants will be writing it on a EC, so make sure you get creative. Good luck!

Writing on an EC can give you the opportunity to talk about an aspect of it that might not seem obvious when just listed on the app. And you have the benefit of writing about something that excites you to add interest and energy to the essay. But you want to make it as original and personal as possible. You don’t want a generic essay.

Writing about an EC is not necessary, though. They often can stand on their own and you can use the essay to highlight something else that you want the readers to know about you.

Yeah, i want to highlight my internship in particular because of the fact the CA dropped the short EC essay. How could I really make it unique/personal?
