Hi,

I know that there's generally no exact term for who gets rescinded.
But for Ivy League Colleges, and some of the other top rated colleges such as UCLA, UC Berkeley, what do they accept in terms of 2nd semester senior grades?

No Ds or Fs. Keep the Cs to a minimal. That’s a good starting point. OK?

A wee bit early to plan your basement GPA for your Senioritis?

Or are you really worrying it’s something like 3.8?

Worry about getting accepted first!

You are not allowed to drop courses second semester of senior year without notify the college(s).

You can search the web sites of UC campuses and postings here for typical “conditions of admission” at those campuses. Usually, this means maintaining some minimum GPA with no D or F grades in the course work you reported as taking senior year (i.e. don’t drop any courses, at least not without telling the college, and don’t drop any academically important courses).

Probably want to focus your attention on getting in before giving up on high school. Further, that mindset says a lot about you as a student, to be entirely honest. I’m not sure why an elite institution would want a student who concerns him/herself with how LOW his grades can drop when there is a multitude of students who finish the year strong.
