General Lab Chem 1st Sem vs Calc 1, 2, 3, Java difficulty

Ok, our school has two sems of general lab chem. I just want some sort of comparison.

How is chem compared to

-Calc series ?
-A java programming class ?

This depends on you and your strengths, it depends on your school, and it depends on your professor and classmates. It’s really impossible to give a generalization for this.

In my experience, chem lab is a lot of busy work. At my school, you had to do a pre-lab, then had 3-4 hrs lab twice a week, and then you had to write up a lab report each week or two. My gen chem lab was more work than Calc and the java programming class I took, but wasn’t anymore difficult. Your experience may be different though.

Being a lab course, general chemistry will be more time consuming than a math course, even if it is not intellectually difficult. Computer science courses with programming can be high workload as well.

You may also have to deal with grade-grubbing premeds in general chemistry.

I second what is said above. Gen Chem labs are very long and require a lot more work than a Calc series. I would say the difficulty is about the same.
