General Prompt Guidelines?

I've been looking at this prompt for weeks (and finally realized today that it's due Jan 15th), but I can't seem to find a creative way to spin this prompt. I'm not really sure where to begin or end with this essay. Can you guys help give me some general tips as far as this prompt? For example, there was a thread on the "Why ___?" essays, and people said to include both why the school is a good fit for you AND why you are a good fit for the school... such like that. Thanks!

Prompt: In its mission statement, the Honors College is described as a community of scholars whose goal is to enrich the education experience of UG and allow faculty and students of all disciplines to interact in teaching, learning, and research. What scholarly attributes do you bring to this community?

Since the essay is due today, perhaps it's time for Plan B.

Consider giving a straightforward, rather than "creative", answer to the prompt.

Ask yourself:

*What is a scholar?

What attributes does one need to be a scholar?

Which of these attributes do you have?*

And then in your essay:

Show, don't tell, that you have some of these attributes.

Show, don't tell

thank you very much!!
