General Question

Hi. Is tufts on the quarter or semester system? How many courses do people take per semester/quarter. How many courses do you take over the course of 4 years? Is it possible to major and double minor or double major? thanks

1) Semester system
2) 4- 5 courses per semester
3) You do the math (4-5 X 8). The engineers are required to have more credits than LA to graduate
4) You can double major but you cannot double minor

Correction:

Liberal arts needs 34 credits - six semesters of four credits (one class = 1 credit) and two semesters of five credits. Or two AP credits. Engineers need 38 credits to graduate.

Back in my day, you could not double-major and minor. I think they allow that now (figures!); they've always allowed triple majoring; not sure about two minors.

You can double-major in pretty much anything - it's not like Harvard, where your concentrations have to be sufficiently related. In fact, Tufts has a lot of students who do things like science and foreign language.

hm... so you can do double major+1 minor, but not 1 major+2minor, and you can triple major, double major, 1 major, 1 major+1minor. are these all the combinations?
i dont get it though, why can't you 1 major+2minor?

I think you can have 2 minors with 1 major, just not 2 minors as the core of your curriculum.

oh!! ok....
