General Questions about EcE and CMU

I was admitted to CIT, ECE and will be a freshman next year. I am also an international student. I have some questions to you ..
1.Approximately how many students are accepted to ECE and how many of them are international?
2.I have a question about housing. How do we choose the dorms? (I don't have any info about this, if you could provide me some, I will be very glad.)
3.What should I do to get a very good internship? What do you suggest me to do?
4.Is it possible to take merit aid in the second year or following years of university? (They didn’t give me any aid now) If it is possible, what should I to do? What are the requirements?
5. I heard that in cmu there is a possibility to finish ECE in 3 years and getting an MBA from tepper in 2 years. Do you suggest me to do this? Is this too hard to handle?
6. Do you suggest me any book to read or study before coming?

I don’t have too many time to read the whole forum, so if these questions had been asked before, I am sorry. Thank you very much for your concern and help..

i would love to read some answers to ur questions as well....

I know I asked lots of questions that will take so much time to answer. But I will be very glad, if one of you can answer even one question or share an opinion about the questions above.

Not many, I'm sorry I don't know the exact numbers for international applicants. They do not really have separate info on that (that I know of).

They will send housing forms to you LATER and you will pick them based on 1. 2. 3. (1 being priority and then going down to 3 for your last choice).

Get about a 3.4+ or as GOOD grades as possible and then just apply. We get TONS of emails about interns so DO not worry about it yet.

I know that aid changes every year so that if you have a lower EFC next year you get more aid so maybe they would give you merit the next year. Check with the office about this (call the HUB).

If you WANT to do it, then do it. It will be pretty hard if you don't have many upper courses (such as starting off in upper math). TALK TO YOUR counselor once you arrive here and decide on what to do. I dont' know your information and even if I did, I wouldn't know what courses you would be exempt from.

Read the book they send you. I think for us they sent a book titled "How to make the best of college" or some crap like that :) It wasn't very helpful but I loved it because it really highlighted how you had to be SOCIAL and not nerdy.
