General Questions

Hi,

I was almost certain that I wanted to do medicine for a career, but I’ve again started to look at law as a possible career for some reason. Anyways, I’m more of a math/science oriented guy especially in the biological/medical sciences, and I think that I want to major in either psychology or BME (biomed eng), so my questions are:

Are there any careers in law that would suite my interests of math and science, and a career in which I can actually apply this daily instead of just writing defence speeches and such?

Are there any law schools/jobs that like people with a techy background (given my BME degree)?

How bad are the hours for the law careers that you think would most apply to me? I don’t care too much for hours because being a doctor would be much worse, but what do you think?

any advice would be great,
thanks in advance

Patent law (a branch of intellectual property) springs to mind. I'm no authority, but I believe there's a whole thread pinned on this board. I don't know what branch of law would deal with medical issues...malpractice, negligence, I-know-nothing-about-the-medical-profession-and-I'm-sorry, etc...but that might be something to look into, also. A way to synthesize your interests.

Good luck!

There are technical aspects to construction law and product liability.
