general requirements

does anyone know if:

1.) u.s. history fulfills the western cultures and traditions requirement? we dont have western civilization or any other history classes besides world civilization and it clearly states that is not acceptable.

2.) does anyone know if world geography w/lab fulfills the scientific inquiry requirement?

i plan on majoring in something like psychology, sociology, etc

...................

Do you mean AP credits for those courses, or having taken those courses at a community college?

i am taking them at a community college

mm, the general ed guide it lists all of the usc courses that can be used to fulfill the requirements.

... but i don't know the answer to your questions. you'll probably have to wait to get your transfer credit report on oasis.

i havent applied yet i was just wondering if anyone knew if those would work or not

There are separate articulation agreements with each school that detail which courses will be transferable. Call USC and ask them about yours. It may be a pain in the bum, but it's not nearly as bad as taking a bunch of courses and then finding out they don't count for anything.

I pretty much want to take every class on that General Education Requirement course list. lol

Are you taking this classes while still in HS? Because you can only get credit for GE's (cat 1-6) if you take them at a CC after graduating from HS and before attending USC. So if you haven't graduated from HS then it doesn't matter anyways (A friend and I took the same class but I took it after junior year and she after senior year....and she was able to use that to fulfill cat 5)

haha i know, right... aren't they good?? i'm a transfer, and taking the gen ed courses at my old school was like getting teeth pulled everyday.

no in in college

If you're at a CC in CA then check out the articulation agreements...chances are that your school is there. http://www.usc.edu/dept/ARR/articulation/
If not, classes that are similar to those on the list should be accepted by USC.
