So I'm a sophomore and I'm kind of new to this whole SAT II business, so sorry if the answer to this question is obvious. Is it better to take SATIIs in subjects you like the most/are related to a major you are interested in or is it okay to take any SAT II? Basically, do colleges mind? I'm totally a humanities person and don't like science, but I'm kind of interested in taking the biology SAT II as one of the 3 subject tests I will take before applying to colleges. Would you recommend this or no?

Yea, colleges like to see a good mix of subject areas, so two humanities and a science for a humanities major would be great. Some other people contend that very high scores in the area of your potential major is better than a mix, but I think that either one will do. Go for it.

Thanks.. bump.

Take the SAT IIs in the subjects that you're good in- you don't necessarily need to take the test(s) that relate to the major you're going into, unless if you change your mind and want to take engineering at a top school. If that's the case, one of the tests should probably be Math I/II.

Ok thanks. If you take more than 3, can you just choose the 3 best SATIIs and send them to colleges, or do colleges see all your test scores? If you take a certain test more than once, do colleges see your previous scores or only your final scores?

^ It depends if you are 2010 or past.

I'm graduating in 2011.

If you are graduating in 2011, then you can choose which scores you can send to colleges.
