I made a topic on this awhile back, but it'd probably make more sense to make a new, more general one.

I have several classes in which I have Bs in, and unless I'm overreacting, it's haunting me.

does your school let you retake classes you got b's in? here... we're only allowed to if we get a D or lower. :(

I'm telling you man, I don't think retaking a class is going to impress the admissions people...but I could be wrong. I simply don't see how getting an A in a class you've already taken would demonstrate your abilities. I mean, you already know the material, you will have the benefit of hearing lectures twice...

The only reason I would retake a class would be for personal benefit, if doing so would be useful to my educational development. And even then I wouldn't "retake" it, I'd simply sit in on the lectures.

No point in dropping any amount of money on something you've already paid for.

B's? B's?! That is nothing less than failure!

Seriously, it's okay. Just move on with your life.

i retook a B in spanish, got an A, which gave me a 4.0. it got me to the school i wanted to go, but do with that info what u will, though i wouldnt recommend retaking a bunch of B's - i dont see that being looked upon favorably

for better or worse i cannot retake classes at my schoool... otherwise i would retake math. However, their is something to be said in it not all being about the grade. I am taking a class with a guy who wrote the definitive analysis of plato, and the guy who taught the airforce what we now use as our airpower doctrine.... that is worth getting an A- in my book

I know it's hard to believe when you're a paranoid overachiever on this website, but sometimes Bs mean you did really well.

I agree! Since when did B's become a bad thing?? I mean yes, a 3.0 wouldn't be competitive for transfer but, a 3.5, 3.7, 3.8? Those are wonderful GPA's! This thread drove me crazy the last time it was up. I swear by the time I have children in college, everyone will be freaking out about A- grades.

I'm starting to think there's a fine line between the two words "success" and "obsess"

I'm not saying they're bad, but I am saying that I'm sick of worrying about it all the time and thinking that I may have blown my shot to live the way I want to academically.

Again, take it from someone who's gone through this all many many times, and finished:

One or two or even four Bs in your college career are not going to preclude you from success.
