Hi! I’m really interested in going to UC Santa Cruz, but I’m wondering about the general vibe of the school? I’m a pretty liberal person, I’m vegetarian etc, and in search of a school that will allow for some individualism. So what’s the overall feeling of the campus etc?
Thanks so much!
My oldest daughter is a freshman at UCSC – and she loves it. It wasn’t her first choice school during the application process – in fact, she only applied because it had a major she was particularly interested in. She recently told me that she was very happy she ended up choosing this school, and that she is very happy there.
There is a lot of diversity, it’s pretty liberal and they offer daily vegetarian offerings, and each monday one of the dining halls does meatless Monday – they rotate which dining halls offer this. She commented that it’s like going to school at camp, because of the beautiful natural surroundings.
You should plan a visit and do a campus tour if possible.
