Muir: Reserved for the Awesome.

Revelle, Marshall, Warren. Roosevelt, Sixth = everyone else.

A silly question deserves a silly answer

Are you kidding me? Warren ftw!

search the archives! please! there are a million and one threads about the 6 colleges.

To be honest they all have their ups and downs. Each college isnt necessarily directed towards focuses of study or departments but they each have their own themes of education like emphasizing writing, emphasizing social citizenship, emphasizing the modern world etc

Except for muir. We're traditional education. Go to ERC if you like writing.

Muir's GEs are being redressed in the near future because of the stigma of it being a lot easier than the rest

Good thing I was done with that 2 years ago!

Muir: We're all business baby. Get in. Get out.

Other 5 colleges: Where you can explore your feelings...

OK I'll answer it for you. These are the general stereotypes, but I think they're pretty true to a certain (very high) degree..

Revelle: study study study. You have too many GEs to complete. Boring. Well, this girl always comes over to our college (6th) because Revelle is so socially dead.

Muir: I personally think Muir's the best! even though I'm not in Muir. They've got really cool people there. I don't like their gray, drag buildings though; they make the res halls seem like prison from the outside!! But their dining (summit) is good. they've got the wok, which is like asian-wannabe food. but it's pretty good. they've also got el mercado, which is kinda like chipotle.

ERC: They're so detached from campus (Even though they've got the new dorms, the best dining hall, etc). I heard that's where the latino kids are at. Does that mean it's kinda ghetto? Who knows.

Warren: warren kids are pretty chill. they've got really nice looking apartments (at least from the outside). their dining isn't that great. it's like cafeteria food. but warren has decent GEs

TMC: some people really love it, some people really don't. i personally haven't met anyone from here so I can't really tell you.

SIXTH!!!! when people rank college, sixth is usually their last choice because the name is ghetto (it' sunnamed) and therefore they think that sixth isn't good at all. Yeah, we've got the strange lit sequence (CAT) and it's really stupid and all, but it's actually not that bad. GEs are decent (WAY better than revelle & erc anyway) and because this is where all the dumb people are at, it's the "party college". i think sixth college are teh friendliest and coolest. but then again, nobody really wants to study so we all play every day. you just have to be good at balancing school & fun. we're camp snoopy; that means we have camp-like twostory buildings for our res halls. i personally LOVE the layout because we also have suites in the buildings. that means you get to have this really tight knit super cool bond with your suitemates (about 14 girls/boys). AND WE'VE GOT THE MOST SPIRIT with the coolest people which i love :)

Muir: chill
Warren: chill
Revelle: Study anti-social
Sixth: SPIRIT
ERC: loners. they're so far away nobody likes to hike up there.
'nuff said.

Best to worst college:

Muir > Sixth = Warren > TMC > ERC > Revelle

This is looking at food, cool people, GEs, buildings

I'm a little iffy about Muir as first because of its dorms... The rooms are not that great :(

Muir, Sixth, Warren = fun

ERC, Revelle, TMC = everyone else.

Revelle: Dedicated, hard-working students, yet at the same time very laid back. Not antisocial at all. Students who go here tend to be hard science majors as well as undeclared, with some engineering.

Muir: People who want easy GEs. Has all sorts of majors.

Marshall: Emphasizes citizenship and attracts those interested in community service. Tends to be the preferred choice among Poli Sci and Econ majors.

Warren: Has a lot of engineers, since the GEs are much easier if you're an Engineering major.

Roosevelt: The "girly" one (most of the students here are female), but also attracts students interested in studying abroad. Popular among International Relations and Liberal Arts majors.

Sixth: The newest one, still forming a definitive reputation. GEs tend to be friendly to Social Science-type majors.

lol revelle isnt socially dead..last year my friends and i played beer pong in their dorm at least twice a week..we'd take the doors off the closet and turn it into a table, haha!..however, at one point or another most of my friends have been written up at least once ( i got away tho one time because i jumped out a window, lmao..so who says there isnt any excitement in revelle)..

if you are a non science major though, and dont like science, there are a lot of extra ge's that you really wouldnt like..i like all fields so revelle is good for me, it is very academic though too..you have your dorm isolationists who never go out and do anything

and the 2nd yr apts are really nice and big..(theyre over in 6th tho, haha)

ah. i really agree with z7xfla on all those descriptions

Also... ERC is NOT full of loners. I find that ERC is full of people who know how to balance school and a social life. And it's not the latino college either.. seriously not sure where you got that info.

Sorry I'm not trying to be rude I just have a LOT of ERC pride and I personally feel we are the best!

p.s. WE WON THE SHOE!

The shoe is just compensation :)

ERC = latinos and loners. lol, thats really funny.

Basically, all those rumors about Warren being chill are understatements.

Go Warren.

"ERC: I heard that's where the latino kids are at"

You lie. As one of the two latino students at UCSD, I'd just like to call you a liar. That is all. Also spanish speaker does not equal latino.

ERC is a wonderful place, I am not really sure where some of you got your information. We are not as secluded as the mathews appartments in sixth that you have to walk down a long road to find.
ERC is very beautiful, we have huge common areas and our bathrooms have four sinks and three showers as opposed to Revells two of each. We have a large grassy area in the middle of the campus that you can find people tanning on, on nice days. Our second year housing is sweet also: big living room, a full kitchen, good sized bathroom and four single rooms. Plus we have an awesome location. We are right between Cafe Ventanas (best tasting sometimes overpriced) and OVT (the cafe that stays open the latest). We have a large parking structure. Plus we are minutes away from RIMAC (the LARGE gym). PLUS International house is part of our campus so there are always nice foregners to get to know.
Some people hate our GE’s- Making of the Modern world, and yes I agree that if you are any type of science or math major ERC is not the place for you. Otherwise, the GE’s are very relavant to making you aware of the world beyond California and the United States :). On top of that MMW gets you about two classes away from a history minor, which you might as well go for. Just adding to the resume. I really like the GE’s because they are a nice break from major classes.

^Amennnn girl! ERC is gorgeous!
