<p>I talked with a bunch of Adcoms when they came to my school, and they actually DO want to hear about stuff like serious illnesses, family deaths, etc etc that affect your GPA. They said that they understand stuff like that and to mention it on the app- and I definitely think you should do that.</p>
<p>Your GPA is solid and so is your ACT score (bravo on English 
). Have you considered the UCs? Or if you like East Coast, Cornell/Dartmouth/Brown/“lower” (ugh I hate that term) Ivies might be within your range too, if you have good recs/write good essays. </p>
<p>Also consider what you want to major in because different colleges have different undergrad programs
