Generally, where do I stand?

Hey guys, I just want to know where I stand among you guys. I have good test scores but I feel that my ECs will weigh me down. I'll be applying in the field of engineering (probably Electrical) so it'd be great if you guys could tell me if I have a chance for Stanford, EECS Berkeley, UCLA, or any other engineering schools

Objective:
• SAT I (breakdown): 2330 (800 M, 730 CR, 800 W)
• ACT (breakdown): N/A
• SAT II : 800 Math II, Chem (hopefully 800, but realistically 750ish), Physics (probably 800)
• GPA: 4.00 unweighted so far
• Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 1 (school ranks on unweighted GPA, there are a lot of kids with 4.0)
• AP (place score in parentheses): World History (4), Lit (?), Calc AB (?), Comp Sci (?), Physics C Mechanics (self study this year) (?)
• IB (place score in parentheses): N/A
• Senior Year Course Load: AP Chem, AP Lang, AP Macroecon, AP Gov, AP Calc BC, Multimedia
• Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): none :(
Subjective:

• Extracurriculars (place leadership in parentheses): Baseball (2 Yrs JV, 1 yr Varsity) with Most Valuable Sophomore Award, Key Club Member for 3 years (over 100 hours), Little League Baseball Coach(over 50 hours), Science Olympiad (1 Year), Volunteer at local science museum (over 70 hours)
• Job/Work Experience: none
• Volunteer/Community Service: see ECs
• Summer Activities: Going to Boston RISE this summer to research in field of Electrical and Computer Engineering
• Essays: I hope to make these good lol
• Teacher Recommendations: IDK yet

Other

• State (if domestic applicant): CA
• Country (if international applicant): N/A
• School Type: Public
• Ethnicity: Asian
• Gender: M
• Income Bracket: 100,000
• Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Nope

Thanks guys

UCLA: Match
Berkeley: Match
Stanford: Reach

If you think you can do with additional reaches you can always try Cornell, Columbia, Harvard (although EE is Harvard’s weak spot you can still try)

Thanks for replying. I know that EECS at Berkeley is much harder to get into compared to other majors. Do you think I still have a chance considering I don’t have any MAJOR ECs

Please, anyone else? bump

Please, anyone else? bump

I’ll chance back!!

Berkeley and UCLA: Match
Stanford: Reach
I definitely think you can get into Berkeley and UCLA. Stanford, however, will be quite a reach seeing as you don’t have many awards (which most Stanford admits will have) and you’re Asian (which Stanford is literally filled with). But your GPA and SAT are extremely solid along with your ECs so you still have a shot!
Chance back?

UCB and UCLA are match
rest are reach

Thanks guys, I replied to your chances

Your stats are EXCELLENT, but your EC’s fall pretty short. However, I wouldn’t try stacking anything on last minute. I’d just take advantage of your summer and start working on those essays!

I also know CS is FAR more difficult at UCLA and UCB, so I’d say low reach?

Yeah, I agree. EECS at Berkeley is very selective, but I think I should be able to get into UCLA

UCLA/UCB: match
Stanford: high reach

Your chances of getting into Stanford without great EC’s or hooks are slim to none, because at Stanford everyone has your grades and test scores.

Chance back

@Nflpackers96‌ Are you aware just how competitive CS is at UCB and LA

Berkeley: High match

For subject tests, I got a 770 on Chemistry and a 790 on Physics. Does anything change with my chances or do I stand relatively the same?

Stanford: Reach
UCB: Low Reach/High Match (CoE), Match (L&S)
UCLA: Match

I think you definitely have a shot w/ your awesome scores. The only concern I have about your ECs is that there’s no passion towards EECS. I’d try learn some Java/C++ on your own and since you took APCS, it won’t be too hard to learn more. I’d start on those essays and ask your teachers for recs early :)

P.S. Thanks for chancing me!

UCLA and Berk and easily matches for you, and Stanford is a low reach  wouldn’t be surprised if you got into all 3

Id say UCLA and UCB are low to mid reaches while Stanford is a mid reach

Stanford - reach
EECS Berkeley - low reach / high match
UCLA - match

check out carnegie mellon, they are one of the top engineering schools, and love out of state students, you would be a low match there!

please chance me back!

I agree with a lot of the other people that posted. Your grades and test scores are great, but your ECs are a bit lacking. It’s not that you haven’t put in enough time (you have enough hours for sure), but I don’t see one overarching passion. I’m not an expert, but I think schools are looking for something that you’re really involved in, you love to do, and you can make an impact on campus with. Stanford’s a reach for anyone, but you have better chances at the other two. Good luck!
