I'm a Geneseo student entering my junior year this fall. I'm on a pre-med track and have been looking at medical schools. Obviously they have high GPA expectations from their prospective students. I know the general feeling at Geneseo is that it is quite difficult to do well (especially in the sciences) and am under the impression that medical schools will, to some degree, recognize this and take it into consideration when comparing our GPA's with those of other prospective medical students.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a standardized academic difficulty scale for undergraduate institutions (if such a thing even exists). I would just find it hard to beleive that a 3.5 GPA at Geneseo would hold the same wieght as a 3.5 GPA from a school with less strict academic policies.

I'd appreciate any input.
