Genetic Problems

I hate to sound morbid but i'm not sure if mention this anywhere in my transfer apps, precisely because i don't want to sound too morbid.

I'm missing an enzyme in my body and it causes me to experience pain in my limbs and periods of fatigue quite regularly. It's a very strange and complicated genetic issue and it's treatment is very very expensive with serious implications in the future so you can imagine how this isn't the best thing to bring up in any situation.

I've got SAT's above 2200 and pretty good academics so it's not a pure pity thing and I'm also in my schools previous water-polo team.

The thing is I really want to transfer out of my current Uni which is in Hong Kong. The workload's crazy and we've had two suicides. I've dealt with a lot of things but this is something I'd really really rather not deal with.

Normally i wouldn't even think about mentioning it and it shames me to even think about it but I really really need/would rather get out of here.

I’m sure a US university will let you in!
Maybe just not the top tops

Rather than mentioning this in your applications, this would be an issue to address separately with the disability offices and/or health centers at universities that you are considering. You need to determine whether they will be able to help you with any health-related accommodations (such as a lighter courseload some terms) you might need, and whether you will be able to receive the quality of care necessary in your specific case.
