Does anyone know things about it, have info, or advice? I am definitely thinking about studying abroad in Geneva w/ this program. (Gomestar?) Thanks!

a bunch of my friends all did it together (I elected to stay on campus) and all of them really loved it. They all had different experiences, some did extensive research, others did team projects. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the program nor what's available, I like to avoid seeing all of the good stuff I've missed. I just know the program was very well run, my friends all learned a lot, they would all do it again in a heart beat, and it's one heck of a great time.

is this a credit internship or a study abroad program?

Just a quick note off to the side out of curiosity-

Do you guys study a lot of Industrial/ Organizational Psychology and/or Human Resources stuff in ILR?

yes, that's a big chunk of ILR.

I believe that geneva is study abroad.

It is. Do you know if it was hard? Since there are a lot of Cornell students going the last thing I would want would be to be studying all the time in Europe...to say the least lol.

Thanks for the info Gomestar!

I don't think it was very hard at all.

Do you think I could do both a credit internship and a Geneva study abroad for my entire junior year? Do you know anyone who's been away from campus for an entire year?

speak to the ILR study abroad advisor. Everything has to be cleared through them. Including which courses would count as ILR credit or just counted as "elective". Think my d dealt with Kevin Harris (?) when she made arrangements for her study abroad program last year.

its a credit internship program

Just curious- is the Geneva Internship through Cornell ILR? The Cornell Study Abroad site lists a Boston U Internship program which is available to Cornell students. so I was curious if ILR had their own program or is it the program through Boston U?? It really doesn't matter, but I wondered if ILR had its own Internship program in Geneva?

There's specifically an ILR-only Credit Internship opportunity in Geneva. It differs from the Study Abroad program in Geneva which is open to all Cornell students.

thanks for the info!

wuts the difference bet the "credit intership" and "study aroad"?

most study abroad programs are in a university setting- you'll be taking regular courses and receiving academic credit.

an Internship is usually being in a work environment-I'll assume getting credit for this work. Depending on the program requirements, you may need to write papers, do research projects etc. Some programs may be a combo --both the Internship and classes.

my d did a "regular study abroad " program in Italy. She needed to get prior approval from the ILR study abroad advisor for the program and for each course she signed up for. As an ILR major, she couldn't just take Italian cooking and studio art. (but she did take one cooking class)
