Geographic Advantage?

Hey guys,

Well, I just took a glance over the Pton results thread from last year and it really spooked me. While I am academically qualified for ivies (val, 2340, etc), the unhooked kids admitted into Princeton last year always seemed to have these big national awards or major state/national leadership positions. I really dont nor does anyone from my school. I have some state level econ and science olympiad awards and tht sort of thing. Additionally, I founded my school's only science club (I wanna major in bio), am captain/offier of 4 other clubs, and spent alot of time doing community service. Yet, I dont have that intangible WOW aspect of my application that almost every unhooked Pton admit last year had. However, I am from a pritty underrepresented state: Nebraska. How big of a deal is that for people who are academically qualified but maybe not quite there in terms of awards/ecs?

Thanks,
Robbie

Adding on to this: does it also matter what area/city from a particular state you’re from?
