Geography or Urban Planning?

I'm going to transfer to an university. I'm interested in Geography and I think working in urban planning field is appropriate for that. But I can't decide to choose Geography or Urban Planning as my major. Do you have any ideas?

I'm going to apply for the Geography BA of SJSU, UCB, UCLA, UCSB
AND the urban planning undergraduate program of CalPolu SLO and UCSD.

Please feel free to comment.

p.s.Should I also apply for the urban planning program of SFSU and SDSU? I find little info about them.

If you were my kid, and wanted to be something other than a teacher, I’d steer you toward urban planning. Lots more jobs with just a bachelors degree.

You don’t list your stats but, I presume you understand how selective these campuses are…

If you haven’t you ought to look using Transfer Admissions Guarantee (TAG) to get into UCSB. Your CC will have info and you can read about it here.

Given the unpredictability of transfer admissions (other than SJSU) I’d encourage you to apply to some less selective (not SDSU orSLO). Again without your stats, i am only guessing here but, why not apply CP Pomona, Sac and Chico too?

My transfer GPA is 3.79.
I know a little about SDSU.
Is SDSU also a selective university?

Is it possible to study a Geography major and work in urban planning fields?
