hey yall i'm looking to transfer into a good geology program, i'm currently at the University of North Texas. if any of yall have any suggestions please let me know :) and i hope i'm doing this right...

Assuming you want to stay in the general area - UT Austin has a very strong geology program, as does Univ of Oklahoma and LSU. These are some of the schools most recruited by the major oil companies.

Also, I think Penn State, Ohio State and Oregon State also have good programs.

Clemson University is very strong in the sciences

There are dozens of great geology programs out there, and your career opportunities are pretty good from any of them. Could you be more specific?

In the meantime, this link is much more comprehensive than suggestions you’ll get on this thread.

EDIT: I only took a quick glimpse over Clemson’s program, but it does not appear to be particularly strong. For one thing, it focuses almost entirely on petrology. Surprisingly, I don’t even see a geomorphology course offered.

To name a few;

U of Houston
Texas Christian University
By the way, why are you leaving UNT?
