Geometry

Gosh, Geometry is such a pain to teach yourself. I am talking about teaching yourself Geometry, Chapter 1 through the end. I am getting no help from teachers, barely parents and friends. Also memorizing ASA,ASS<-- those types of postulates is a pain and picturing 3D images... I sure miss when i was Top in the class for Algebra 1 Advanced, out of more than 300 students.
I am teaching myself to get ahead in my highschool career.

I did Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalc by myself. Here's the key:
1) Cram for the midterm
2) Cram for the final
3) Do Algebra 2 immediately after you finish Geometry
4) Immediately cram for the SAT.
5) Forget everything related to Geometry and move on to Precalculus, because Precalc and above have almost nothing to do with geometry.
6) ?
7) Happiness.

Precalc and above have almost nothing to do with Geometry?
No point in learning Geometry... -__-

Oh god, I hate geometry.

It was my worst subject of all of my high school classes.

if you're gonna teach yourself then all I have to say to you is have fun with proofs

geometry is a pain
so dumb....

Well, the proofs of specific sin and cos values use the knowledge of 45-45 and 30-60 right triangles.

And hey, if you're going to calc, you'll need some geometry formulas when you get to related rates!

Geometry is "hard math" because it has lot more spacial-kind of thinking that's different from the formula/equation-based manipulations in basic algebra courses.

If you can understand both the algebraic and the geometric representations of the math concepts, great job to you.

geometry was my favorite math course. more fun than algebra

geometry was a cakewalk...I hope you people who think it's hard don't want to go into math or engineering

high school geometry curricula are trivial, but, taught the right way, geometry is extremely hard and extremely fun. buy "geometry revisited" by coxeter and greitzer. read it. love it.

If U Think Geomtry Is Hard Then U R A Dumb******

The proofs were so stupid. We had to write like 6 different steps just to say that if two angle were congruent, then they were also equal. I learned more about proofs from like one round of USAMTS than a year's worth of Geometry.

Geometry was hard because my teacher was a *****.

Those 13 steps proofs we had to do were ********.

geometry is an evil subject of doom. it's not so much that it was hard, it was just time consuming and annoying.

Man, I remember geometry. My teacher had the highest IQ of my entire school so, yeah, it was pretty challenging. Half of our first semester final was proofs. And every once n a while we'd get those 20 something step proofs. Ten steps if youre lucky.

I can't wait for Alg2/Trig.

Our teacher (I took Geo in middle school) was relatively easy compared to what I'm seeing in this Thread... our proofs were mostly 5 or less steps and we spent only a few weeks on it

I think geometry is actually easier to self study than to learn in a class room. Some people are really good at geometry because it's all deductive, while others need to work harder at it.

If U Think Geomtry Is Hard Then U R A Dumb******

I thought it was hard and I have As in all my classes this year, including Math.

It really depends, Geometry Regular class is actually quite mediocre. Opposed to Geo Honors, now thats a whole different ball game!
