George Washington App Part 2 Due Tommorrow

Hey,

I just discovered this disturbing bit of news. While almost all schools have deadlines of December 31 or later, George Washington University in DC requires a short two page app, 500 word essay, and fee by TOMMOROW, December 1st.

Is anyone else suprised and a little worried. I haven’t finalized my college list, and George Washington was a small consideration. Now, I have to decide by tomorrow.

Also, it says that you can use the Common App in Leu of their application. I wonder if that means that you can submit it all on the January 15 deadline for the rest of the app. I doubt it.

Many web sites (princetonreview.com US News) say that the app is due on the 15th of January, but I believe that the real information is here.

<p>Also, there may be other schools in similar situations. I just discovered that Swarthmore recommends (but does not require) a pre-app on December 15th, although it can be turned in with the app at the end of the month.</p>

<p>nothing's due tomorrow if youre using the common app-- a friend called today. although i'd call and check for yourself.</p>

<p>no part 2 is due on Jan 15th, part 1 hasto be in by the 1st.
that is if your applying ED II, like me :)</p>

Read the website again. They intermix info for ED with regular.Part 1 is due Dec 1st. Part 2 for regular admits is due on Jan 15. Part 1 is just biographical info and paying your money! Much less painful than an essay...</p>

<p>im applying to GW as well. their priority deadline is 12/1. im sending out my essay form tonight, and im applying on the common web site tonight as well.</p>

<p>Im confused do you have to send part I if your using the common app or is hat just for the GW app?</p>

<p>i went to the Common App website and they have the due date of the Common App as Jan 15. if any issues arise just say that the Common App website told you Jan 15 and you went by that.</p>

<p>I'm also using Commonapp and applying to the Honors program. I went to one of their "chats" a few months ago and was assured that nothing is due until the 15th of Jan, although I sent in the Commonapp already and am starting the supplement. Hope that helps!</p>

<p>PS. Is anyone else trying to get an interview? I called yesterday and left a message but they never called back.</p>

<p>All y'all have to do is do an easy questionaire. I applied ED and it took less than 5 minutes. The real fun starts on application part 2=)</p>

<p>there is no benefit as there is no priority date. GW mistakenly mixed info of early deadlines with regular deadlines. If you are applying regular decision part I has to be in by tomorrow December 1st. Part II does not have to be in until January 15.</p>

<p>OK, here's what we've figured out so far for GW.</p>

<p>---Part 2 (Includes detailed information, essays, etc.) is due on January 15th. If the Commonapp is submitted, it is also due this day.</p>

<p>---If you submit the GW forms Parts 1 and 2, than Part 1 is due on December 1 (It is only biographical data and a $70 application fee).</p>

<p>What we are unsure of:</p>

<p>---If the submission occurs with the common app "in lieu of the GW Application for Admission," does Part 1 still have to be turned in by December 1st witht the $70.</p>

<p>While this seems reasonable, accounts from sestina and others who believe other internet sources (collegeboard.com, princetonreview.com) disagree. However, GW's site says the 1st of December, so that is the likely expectation.</p>
