George Washington RD 2020

@VBtwin2016 My D applied test optional as well. We are praying her full international baccalaureate private school education has a return on investment at GW. Loyola University-Chicago awarded her $100,000 before receiving any financials. Praying for all students.

Did anyone here interview?

@KLWoodlands My D did not.

^^I didn’t

@KLWoodlands - I did not interview.

I interviewed and I genuinely got the feeling that GW looks at applicants as more than just stats-- the man that interviewed me made it clear that applying w/o sending test scores won’t hurt you and that test scores/GPA are not biggest factors, said essays are very important and interest in the school helps

Just putting that out there for you guys!!

@KLWoodlands I’m glad they consider more than just test scores and GPA but I doubt that GPA is not one of the biggest factors. Your transcript is a result of 3-4 years of hard work. I doubt an essay, no matter how good, can make up for an extremely low GPA.

@NICE8x I would tend to agree with you. My D’s test scores were not in the mid-50 range which is why she applied to American and GW test optional. However, she has a 4.16 GPA (w) with a full IB junior/senior year class schedule, outstanding EC’s, LOR’s and essays. She was just accepted to the University of Georgia which adds a full point to your GPA for IB classes (1/2 point for AP classes and no points for Honors classes).

I interviewed over the phone! I requested to interview a long time before I submitted my app and almost forgot about it until they contacted me.

I interviewed

I didn’t interview. Tried to book one a few days before the deadline but they weren’t taking any interview requests at that point.

Does anyone have any reliable sources regarding the admission decision date? Thank you!

never mind.

I interviewed and I really think it helped in getting a LL

I had no idea you could/were supposed to schedule interviews but I got a LL anyways so I guess I’m okay though I hope this doesn’t affect the amount of merit aid I receive.

do you think that if you get a LL you will likely get merit aid?

Are decisions released online first?

^ will decisions be on the activity center? If so, does anyone know when? Thanks!! :slight_smile:

I heard decisions come out the 24th… don’t know if it is true or not @briggs23
