George Washington RD 2020

@Lana22 I’m guessing either Thursday or Friday but I really have no idea! Just speculation xx

fingers crossed we get that email tomorrow saying decisions are out the next day!

Good luck to everyone! Told My D I was leaving CC…I fibbed a little

Anyone get an email? :-/ I was really hoping it would be tomorrow

No email here! I’m guessing it’ll be friday

Historically, GWU decisions come out the last Friday of every month. It’s doubtful that it will come out tomorrow

I just called GW Admissions, they don’t know yet but the latest they’ll be sent is April 1st. He said it “could be” tomorrow, but he just doesn’t know yet. I wouldn’t count on it being tomorrow, but I guess we’ll find out…

Update from My D’s college advisor:

Updates from GW Admissions!!

"Dear,

As the cherry blossoms begin to bloom in Washington, D.C. and the GW Undergraduate Admissions Office prepares to release decisions, we thought it would be helpful to share information about the fall 2016 freshman applicants.

• Freshman applications went up an unprecedented 28% with over 25,000 applicants. We saw marked increases in both Early Decision and Regular Decision pools.

• GW plans to enroll 2,575 students in the Class of 2020.

• We anticipate approximately 1/3 of the class will be comprised of Early Decision applicants.

• Given our increase in applications, we expect our admit rate to fall below last year’s rate of 44%.

• In our first-year of test-optional admission, about 20% of applicants chose not to submit scores.

• It is always our hope to be able to utilize the wait list to finalize our enrollment goals. We will have a better idea about whether we can admit students from the wait list in late April.

• We will again offer a number of students the opportunity to enroll at the American University of Paris for their freshman year with a guaranteed offer of sophomore admission to GW. Last year we had a cohort of 29 and we hope AUP will be able to welcome 40 future Colonials this year.

• We plan to release decisions online by the end of March. Applicants will receive an email from the Admissions Office letting them know when decisions are posted on the GW Admissions Activity Center."

If GW has historically released on the last Friday of the month then we can probably expect a decision on Friday.

Hi Everyone! I saw that you guys are expecting decisions Friday, and I just contacted GWU. They said to not believe the rumors and to expect all decisions on April 1st. So sorry guys, but we all have to wait one more week!

At this point, several people have contacted GWU and all received different answers. Decisions could come any day between now and April 1st, there’s simply no way to know until it’s officially announced.

i never believe admissions office answers… they are usually wrong

i have a 3.5 and a 28 act and I’m getting super stressed :frowning: I’ve been waitlisted to tulane and northeastern and I’m really praying to get here

I got waitlisted at Boston University and William and Mary. I really hope there’s good news from GW

@eva2020 I got waitlisted at BU too :// NYU is my top choice but gw is more likely for me so I really hope this works out

What kind of merit scholarships do they offer? Their website is very ambiguous.I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA, a 35 ACT, and extremely comprehensive leadership, awards, service, and extracurriculars, but I don’t qualify for any need-based aid.

GW acceptance rate was 44% last year? Why did I think it was 30

@amtari The website isn’t very specific, but GWU offers very generous merit aid. With those stats, I would expect a significant award.

@Amtari I had a 93 UW average with a 109 W average and 2000 SAT with heavy political and leadership involvement and was given 26k in merit.

Is the decision most likely coming out tomorrow?
