George Washington RD 2020

Accepted to School of Media & Public Affairs with $100k presidential!! Also accepted to Women’s Leadership Program.
2150 SAT, 4.3 Weighted

Interesting note for next year’s candidates, I did not receive a likely letter but I still got a $100k scholarship!

Before I state my admissions decision I just want to congratulate everyone who got in, and to all those who didn’t, I’ve had my fair share of rejections this year, and I can honestly say that I believe that you will achieve so much and go so far in life, no matter where you go. You are all talented and beautiful and intelligent people.

Accepted with 25k per year in merit aid! I received a likely letter, but I showed 0 interest-- no visits or anything. But I also didn’t apply for aid so that might’ve helped.

Accepted, with scores that are almost embarrassing compared to the rest of you. :-/
But I’m sure you guys will get in somewhere amazing regardless. I honestly believe that the only reason I got in is because I am an URM. Good luck!

@zimzamzoom Wow, thank you, I appreciate your help!

Accepted into Elliott and the Women’s Leadership Program in International Politics with a $100k scholarship! I haven’t cried this much and this hard in a long time, I’m so so happy. Like, overwhelmingly, irrevocably ecstatic. I was rejected from six schools, it’s so nice to know that it’s all working out now.

Accepted. 3.65 unweighted gpa. Many ECs. Good essays. Didn’t send my scores because I only got an 1890 on mg SAT and 26 on ACT. Awarded a small amount, 12k/yr but I’m still stoked!

@ham4westwing Congrats, hon!

To everyone who got a decision they are disappointed with, I know how much it sucks. I know you don’t wanna hear that you’ll end up somewhere great because it doesn’t feel that way at this moment. I’ve gotten rejected from 5 schools (including my top choice), and I’m gonna get rejected from 5 more on Thursday lol. But we all in this together and we’re all gonna love college no matter what

I know i’ve already posted, but I’m going to say it again with stats:
I was accepted to Columbian with $20k a year. 3.95 UW GPA and 1920 SAT with a lot of unique ECs and very good essays. I’m surprised I even got in in the first place, and I also got merit money?? wow.
but to those who didn’t get in: college acceptances are SO WEIRD like your stats are better than mine so it doesn’t say anything about your self worth. in the end you’ll belong where you’re supposed to be, especially with how qualified you guys are.
NYU has been my number one school for three years now, and it still is. I think i just learned to love GW and I realize that it can be a really great place to be for four years. still waiting on NYU, and if i get into that school, I’d love to give you guys my spot :frowning:

Son accepted to Elliott with 35 ACT, 3.8 GPA, good ECs. He had rec’d LL and he also got the $25,000/yr Pres Scholarship. No other aid so cost is still steep.

I’ve seen so many qualified applicants on here that didn’t deserve the rejection letters they got. Honestly, I think many of us were screwed by the new test-optional policy. It’s a shame. I’m left with my back up school, unless I get off the waitlists at Carnegie Mellon or Bryn Mawr. I hope the rest of you are left with better prospects- good luck to everyone. Congratulations to those who got good news today, or will get acceptance letters soon.

@Cosmopolitian13 thank you so much <3

Wow! Really wasn’t expecting an acceptance today!!!
29 ACT, 3.8 UW
I was bummed out all day after Virginia rejected me and was preparing for the worst. GW’s my dream school and I got into the SMPA Political Communications program!
15k a year is worrying though (I’m hoping there’s a chance for more aid…)

Accepted to Columbian!

Didn’t get in. :frowning: 700 math and 700 reading 550 Writing. Recommendation from my school’s principal (one of the best high schools in Maryland) and a recommendation from a professor there. I’m in shock. (other than my writing score no excuse for that lol). Congrats to everyone who got in! hopefully i get into nyu

@B_somm8 I feel you man. I got rejected too. Very similar stats and ec’s. It’s really confusing. I can’t believe it either.

@Tarahific tell me about your GAP year? Did you do it through a program? Also, did you ever apply to any schools before you took the GAP year? One more…did you retake any standardized test after the GAP year? We are seriously considering this option!

Still saying “under review” in my activity center, anyone else?
