Hey guys! George Washington was actually the last college I decided to apply to because of its academic programs that fit my major, and now I feel like it’s one of my top choices! I would love to go there, but we should just hope for the best! I wasn’t asked for an interview though, nor have I visited the school.

I don’t believe GW asks anyone for interviews. I know me, and friends I have that applied there, had to ask for them ourselves. I feel like I’m a solid candidate, and I have visited a few times and interviewed and have emailed my admissions person a few times, so I’ve also shown a lot of interest. It’s my top choice, so I really hope I get in.

I was emailed in around November for an offer to go to a Interview event at a location in NJ… at the time I didn’t really want to go to GW, so I didn’t attend it.

Anyways, I got a postcard today from GW telling me to “Think About George Washington (The President) this weekend.” Does this mean anything? Or do they send this to all RD Applicants?

They probably sent the postcard to everyone- got it too, and I’m an admitted ED1

You have to ask GW for an on-campus interview.

@keabie18- I’m not admitted though… so I was wondering if it was a hint.

I wouldn’t read into it at all. I doubt they put that much thought into it when they select who to mail them to. Just relax, you’ll know soon enough!

@ soccerwolfp @keabie18 is right my twin got in ED2 and I’m a RD applicant and we both got that postcard

I got the postcard, too. It made me giggle and realize how much I love GW.

My random attempt to keep this thread going: Post what your intended major is and why you think you’ll be a great student at GW.

BBA with a concentration in marketing/international business.

GWU is like no other school. It’s literally at the center of the world. The kids exude interest and don’t just care about numbers or test results; it’s about learning, conversing, and delving into one’s passion. Passion: a lot of people forget about it, but GWU sure doesn’t.

Don’t worry - my daughter did not interview and didn’t even visit the campus until admitted students day! She definitely wrote an essay that indicated that she was ONLY interested in GW in the DC area. I think maybe that helped. Who knows! She is now a sophomore at GW and loves it!

Any guesses to notification date? Last year I believe they were released on Thursday 3/25. I’m thinking we may find out Thursday 3/22. Any thoughts?

It could also be the following Thursday, the 29th.

their website says decisions will be released “the last week of march”

Eeek! It’s almost time for decisions to be sent out! I am very nervous… I know interviews are not required for transfer applicants, but did anyone have one in the D.C. metro. area??

For people wondering about the interviews. I was contacted in November by my Admissions Rep saying that he set me up with an area alumni for an interview. I didn’t hear from her until January, but it went really well. So, yeah, they can give you an interview without you requesting one.

When I went to visit the school back in October, I set one up so I could have an interview there. It was nice to have it on campus because I then stayed with someone overnight and attended classes. Such a great experience, and seeing as GW is my number #1, I hope I get in!

Random, but anyone else interested in the 5-year Forensic Science Program? :)

I noticed on their website they stated that the decisions will be released the last week in march. Does anyone know the exact date as to when the decisions are being released?

No one knows yet, but a lot of schools do decisions on Thursdays (IDK if that’s some college notification thing or what). So I’d bet on the last Thursday of this month (the 29th).
