^ yeah I emailed them for my GWID and they got back to me pretty quickly.

^^ agreed, very prompt response!

For those who have GWIDs are able to check their app status. If you have sent a Faculty Recommendation, can you see it as received under documents received?

I have

Application
College transcript
College official report

as received, if anyone can save me a phone call to the admissions office I’d appreciate it.

Mine shows Facultly Reccomendation under received documents.

i am an international transfer to the econ program. do u guys know when are u supposed to recieve a decision.

my app says under review. good luck to you all.

Thank you Yankee13, that really throws a wrench into my app, I personally mailed my prof’s letter of rec so I don’t know what happened.

I guess I’ll drop GW an email.

Ugh I’ve called about that fact that my college transcripts are ‘missing’ and they said to just wait a week and re check… they’re still not there…
It’s so odd because they received my HS transcripts… and they were sent in the same package…
UGH GW.

Amandarin, the exact same thing happened to me( also in the same package) . i sent an e-mail to the admissions office and called them once i believe. i was told that some docs take more time to be marked as recieved.

After 2 or 3 weeks my transcripts showed and my status shanged to “under review”

wait a bit longer and if it still doesnt shows then call them or send them an e-mail

Mine is already under review, so I’m concerned they might have bungled my LOC. It is going to be a huge pain to ask my prof to write another one if it gets to that.

I sent all materials last week of March btw.

when are we supposed to recieve a decision?

@bombazo- mid may it’s on the website…

GWU has actually been the most organized out of the schools i’ve applied to.
do they have a waitlist for transfers? ( I hope not) but just wondering…

I attended an admissions info session/tour in March and spoke to an admissions director after. He said that last year the transfers got their decisions very late because they had a huge influx of freshman applicants (which delayed the transfer application process) and not enough people working on them, and that they were much better prepared this year and planned to be on schedule with decisions, so I’m hopeful for early to mid-May!

I got to say GW has been very courteous in my emails with them, and also the processing of documents has been super quick. Exceptional when compared to a school like Fordham who has been a nightmare for many transfer students including myself.

Anyway, according to the website, notification for Regular Transfer applicants begins May 1st!! So hopefully we hear something by Friday or next Monday.

International Transfer Fall 2011: Accounting
I sent all the materials a month ago; but they have just updated the application status yesterday I hope they will give me a decision soon! (:

after may 1st let’s have this thread lively and not so dead- not too lively like NYU AND USC but lively enough :)

So I decided to email both the GW Undergraduate Admissions Office and one of the Deans of Admissions and both gave me different answers as to specifically when transfer decisions will be released this year.

This is what the GW Undergrad Admissions Office said:
“Thank you for your email. The decisions are being sent out on a rolling basis. The Admissions Committee is still in the process of making final decisions; however, our office has begun to send out decisions via mail. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”

This is what one of the Deans said:
“Decisions will be released in mid-May and they will be posted online. An email will be sent to you when they are ready to view.”

Umm, so I don’t know about you guys but I’ve only heard about the second remark, that decisions would be known mid May and online. The first remark kind of scares me…don’t know which one is right and who to believe!

Either way that is much better than last years June notifications.

Time to start possessively checking the mail now

everyone please post when you get a decision!! and please post how you got it whether online/email/mail and maybe a few stats!
good luck everyone!!!

Apparently some of the Georgetown University transfer applicants have been hearing back! Which is really weird since their deadline to tell everyone was June 1st. Anyways, I’m really eager to hear if anyone gets a decision soon!

isharmie: are they all acceptance letters?
