George Washington University Chances!?!

GWU is my dream school. I love everything about it. Do I have a shot & what are my chances? Thanks!

Unweighted GPA - 87.1 on a 100 scale
(My school does not rank or weight and all of our classes are either honors or AP. I have taken 2 AP classes. My school is also a selective magnet school).

ACT: 26 (I am retaking in a month for a higher score).

Extra Curriculars:
Volunteered at a hospital this entire summer (about 120 hours).
Active Church Member (4 years)
Chess club (Media Chairperson, 3 years)
Yearbook Club (Editor, Advertising Manager, 2 years)
SMAC (Student Movement Against Cancer) Member helps raise money and organize my school's annual relay for life event
Health Occupations Students of America Member (4 years)
Track and Field (2 years)
I expect to have great recommendations and a good college essay.

GWU: Reach (you might want to ED)
BU: Reach

GW is a bit of a reach but they do value demonstrated interest. Applying ED if you’re entirely sure you want to go to GW might help, as would simply visiting the campus and going to an information session if you haven’t done so already.

GW: mid reach
GW ED: low reach

If you can get a ~31 ACT or ~2000 SAT and apply ED I bet you would get in easy.

Aim for 31+/2100+…

You’ve really got to raise that score to at least a 30. Get good recs and write a killer essay. Any SAT IIs? Your APs seem a bit lacking … or are there just not that many offered at your college? I’d say GW is a reach at this point.

Chance me back please?

I’m taking the Physics & Math II subject tests in October but I won’t send them unless they’re 650+. I’ll probably just send my ACT. & like I said my school’s courses are all honors or AP. We aren’t allowed to take any APs until junior year (didn’t take any last year). & I’m taking AP Bio & AP US Gov’t this year with honors calculus, honors English IV, honors anatomy & physiology II, honors psychology, and an EMT class.

i don’t really know much about GWU, but i do know about BU and if they’re about the same level. I think you have a fair shot, i would focus on raising your standardized testing scores, cause that will set you up a bracket in the admissions process!
